Chatelech Secondary Band Concert

And so the tour begins… one of the most satisfying parts of my job as school trustee is touring schools and being a part of their Christmas Concert or Student Celebration as a spectator, supporter, and observer.  This year I had the great pleasure of visiting almost half of our schools on the Sunshine Coast:

7.  Chatelech Secondary Talent Show – December 21

Not only do I feel fortunate to start and end with Chatelech Secondary, I was also able to visit most of the elementary schools that feed into this school.  Furthermore, I visited different schools last year during my 2011 Christmas Concert Tour… Cedar Grove Elementary, Madeira Park Elementary, West Sechelt Elementary, Roberts Creek Elementary, Elphinstone Secondary, and Pender Harbour Secondary.  School concerts reveal much about a school’s culture, values, and community.  Thank you to all of the schools who welcomed me into their schools this year to enjoy the music, the laughter, and the students.  I would like to note that we have an exceptional music program in SD46 with exceptional teachers.  Moreover, we have outstanding teachers, school principals, staff, parents, and volunteers who make these special events memorable for all.  Without community, these school events would not be possible.  As school trustee representing the SD46 Board of Education at these events, THANK YOU and congratulations to a job well done.
