CSBA 2013
What is CSBA? It is the Canadian School Board Association. I’ve recently attended the CSBA Congress 2013 in Vancouver and loved it. Not only was it an opportunity to reconnect with colleagues from BC, but it was a chance to connect with other trustees from other provinces and territories. In this photo, I’m standing with Dave from SD51 Boundary (on my left) and Sandy from Manitoba (on my right). What is our connection? Dave and I serve on the BCSTA Education Committee and I helped him get on Twitter… Sandy and I first met on Twitter and met in person at CSBA. We are kindred spirits. CSBA was so fun. This year’s theme was “Diversity Matters.” Diversity matters to me. I loved the opening and closing plenaries with the Right Honourable Michaelle Jean and Alvin Law, respectively. Their stories were inspirational. I also loved the student trustees presentation. Chris Grouchy, Hirad Zafari, and Jennifer Yoon were outstanding. In fact, all of the workshops, plenaries, food, venue, and student performances were excellent. CSBA was memorable, meaningful, and worthwhile. Thank you BCSTA for making CSBA an incredible professional development event for school trustees. Well done BCSTA!!! Much enjoyed the event and learned lots from #CSBA2013.
